The Shangri-Ladder to Heaven

Into this black hole I go
Deep down into the fabric
Of reality, I burrow
Time passes and the clock ticks
Time that I once borrowed
And that’s why, me, time picked
Me as it’s target
I am it’s sacrifice
Me as the one
The one to be swallowed up whole

I must climb climb climb
Harder faster
Pick up the pace
I need to work my arse off
If I’m to win this race
Against the impossible
Against the crazy
As this pull and sheer force
Is making the molecules
In my body
Rip apart and divorce

Chemical bonds no more
Everything has tore
But as I get ever closer
To the centre of the dark beast
I see a light shine so bright
It flash bangs and blinds me
Then out the other side I pass
And time stands completely still
Condensed into an infinite point
Every part of my body; my mass
But it doesn’t hurt one bit

I’ve reached Nirvana
A Shangri-Ladder brought me here
And I’ve lived an eternity
In a moment so single
In a time frame so short
Heaven has been experienced
But now it’s time
To once again go forth

Then an explosion propels me
Out towards a mirrored plane
A new reality where time flows again
But this time it’s backwards
This is gonna take some getting used to
Oh what a pain
