Urban Alarm Clock

I hear sirens when I
Wake up
Sounds like theres gonna be
A shake up

The urban people’s alarm clock
Never fails to force you awake
Jolting you from your slumber
Please just five more minutes
I beg for goodness sake

On the busy city street
Every passer by seems
Like just a fleeting blurred shadow
A bunch of ghostly apparitions
With no sense of direction
I’ve got my suspicions
These creatures are programmed
Processed and then canned
Gliding down the conveyor belt
Whilst all compacted and tight they felt

Always moving
Always moving
I’m always moving
I’m always moving
For I am a creature too
But I don’t belong
In this human zoo
What about you?
What about you?
Wanna break out
And start a coup?

Let’s break free from these chains
Let’s diverge off from our lanes
Because the perfect prisoner
Doesn’t even know that their imprisoned
So join my here future
One that I have invisioned
Freedom for the mind
Freedom for the soul
Freedom for all
To fill that freedom shaped hole
That sits in your heart
When you don’t create art

It’s just like letting out a fart
That little sigh of relief you get
Releasing pent up emotions
One of the purest energies
That fuels our very society
And truly portrays our variety
Born from depression or anxiety
Perhaps it can bring happiness
To many others and yourself
Providing plentiful mental wealth
Because fuck bad mental health
Squish that programming bug
Then kick it under the rug

But when the man comes along
Asking why you’re operating
Outside of your programmed boundaries
Just give them a little shrug
Get back into your car
Take a swig and a chug
Of your chosen poison beverage
Now you’ve broken away from average
But now you’ve got yourself in trouble
Do you need a hand
Got your head burried
Deep within the sand
It’s not my problem
I only added the element of temptation
You made the decision on your own
Where’s all your layers of protection?
The best defense is prevention
So just release all that tension
Put up four walls and a roof
And install a trap door below you
So you always have an escape
Though you might break you legs
When you use it to run away
But crawling is better than nothing
And prison is all work and no play
