Spiral of Doubt

If there’s a former and a latter
It’s probably the latter
The former doesn’t matter
It’s just meant to scatter
Your heart and your mind, it’s only hypothetical
Just meant to tickle
Your nerves, unearthed
Your feelings of doubt
The things that you shout
Then you sit there and pout

Overthinking, the ship is sinking
Down down down we go
Fill up buckets with water, throw throw throw
Overboard, pull out your sword
We’re being boarded, pirates incoming
Fight fight fight, but now I’m running
Away from here, away from you
Now I’m thinking “are we through?”

I sit for a moment, gather my thoughts
Play a mental game of crosses and noughts
Clear my mind, now it’s free of worry
Come back to you and say I’m sorry
Into you arms I fall and hurry
Then you whip up a mean ass curry
The never ending rollercoaster has come to a calm
As if I’ve just read the whole book of psalm
We’re at a straight part of the track, but only for so long
Until the next thing that is bound to go wrong
But for now I guess I’ll just whistle my song

I write stuff. Mostly comedy. Probably unfunny, if it's not your cup of tea drink coffee.
